DiPinto Guitars has created a new guitar for Rick Nielsen, the lead guitarist of the classic power pop/rock band CHEAP TRICK; a DiPINTO BELVEDERE Jr. with a graphic of late night TV host, STEVEN COLBERT on the front!   Rick Nielsen and Chris DiPinto, owner of DiPinto Guitars, have worked together in the past.  When it came time to make another guitar for Rick, Chris wanted to make something that fit the quiver of wild axes that Rick tours with. Since Cheap Trick wrote the theme song for Steven Colbert’s TV show The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, it seemed like the perfect image to affix to DiPintos latest model, the Belvedere Jr. Adding an image to a guitar is no easy task so Chris called his custom finish expert Jim Cara of Cara Guitars to add the custom image to the top of the instrument. more pictures after the jump 

  Rick has been know to play guitars with images on the front in the past including one with the four faces of the Beatles that he often uses when they cover Day Tripper. The Steven Colbert DiPinto Guitar adds one more quirky inside joke to the long string of whimsical antics that Rick is know for on stage.
