Los Straitjackets, America's #1 Instrumental Combo become known as frequent collaborators, recording Sing Along With Los Straitjackets with a number of different artists. They were nominated for a Grammy Award for their collaboration with blues singer Eddy Clearwater, Rock 'N' Roll City. As time goes on, their stage shows have become more elaborate. Phil Lewis is a British born vocalist for the American glam metal band named L.A. Guns. He was born on January 9, 1957 in London, England. Prior to joining L.A. Guns Lewis also worked with Girl (which also featured Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen, except near the end of Girl), New Torpedos, and Tormé. While temporarily out of L.A. Guns, he sang for the bands Filthy Lucre and the Liberators. Lewis dated model and actress Britt Ekland. He also guested on the Sheer Greed song "Everybody Wants" on their Sublime To The Ridiculous album. He has two solo albums titled El Niño and More Purple Than Black. Although aged 53, Lewis spends his spare time arguing with ex-fans on the popular glam rock website Metal Sludge, under the username Al Snug.

Dick Dale invented surf music in the 1950's. Not the '60's as is commonly believed. He was given the title "King of the Surf Guitar" by his fellow surfers with whom he surfed with from sun-up to sun-down. Dick Dale is best known for writing the ultimate Surf guitar song "Miserlou" back in 1962 which was also used in the soundtrack of the movie Pulp Fiction. Nowadays the Godfather of Surf is still touring worldwide with his band and is still pleasing millions of fans.

The Lilys are an American indie rock band, formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the beginning of the 1990s, and based in Washington, D.C.. The group consists of singer-songwriter/guitarist Kurt Heasley and a long list of constantly changing musicians. Stylistically their music has evolved from their shoegazing debut album In The Presence of Nothing. Chris, My name is Cheryl, and I'm writing to tell you about one of your best advertisers in the south...well, at least in GA! He has proudly shown off his DiPinto Bass, and he and it have gotten compliments too many to count! Until Saturday, he was one of the BEST bassists anywhere around! The reason I said "Until Saturday" is that he died in a weather-related automobile wreck Saturday night. His name...Richard Christensen, but most everyone knew him as "Chris." He'd been with some pretty well-known groups way back "in the day," but he spent the better part of the last 19 - 20 years playing bass and doing vocals for Seminole Jackson and the Dixie Blues (playing all around the city and outskirts of Atlanta). I'll enclose a pic, so you can see which one it was. He loved music, playing bass, singing and his bass...me, too, but he'd had the bass longer! It brought him a lot of joy and in turn, he brought a lot of joy to others by playing it. Thanks to you and Sophie for bringing so much pleasure to him. Contra Coup formed as a band in November 2006 after several members of a temporary backing band, The Lonestar Rockers, completed a tour of the Southern United States with reggae legend Clinton Fearon (Studio One, The Gladiators, Balck Ark Studio). While being a very cohesive unit in the studio, Contra Coup has evolved into a very dynamic live act as well. A second European tour is being planned for May 2009 to support the release of their upcoming full length record (Europe - May, '09/ U.S. - June, '09).

The time was 1995 and the duo convened wherever they could find borrowed gear and a power source. Dyno Don Ressler (guitar and bass) has been playing in assorted Cleveland bands, including Breaking Point and The Pickniks, since he was a youngster. With the X-ChromaTones, Dyno Don is taking his playing to new levels. Tommy Rock Stanger (guitar) is another talented player with a long history playing in assorted bands. Tommy Rock hosts Beyondo Mondo Record Party, Sundays, 11 p.m.-midnight on WAPS. Tsunami Tom Hinders (bass) is a long-time fan of instrumental surf music. Check out his Tsunami Soul radio show, Thursdays, 6-8 p.m. on WOBC. Dick Dynamite Kandalec (drums), the man with the big beat etched into his soul, is another veteran of the Cleveland blues and roots rock scene, and he continues to play in a variety of projects.
